Position Summary

Job Description:

Marketing Manager is a full-time, entry-level position with Com Net, Incorporated, whose offices are located in Wapakoneta, Ohio.  The Marketing Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Director of Sales and Marketing to create a lasting impression among consumers and improving product sales and market share.  The Marketing Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing with direct sales representatives and sales agencies to ensure they have the services and support literature needed for account retention, new service sales to existing accounts and new account acquisition.

 

A Marketing Manager monitors market trends, analyzes Com Net’s market, creates warm contacts for direct sales representatives, and assists the Director of Sales and Marketing in overseeing advertising and marketing activities with outside marketing firms to ensure the right message is delivered for our product or service.

 

The Marketing Manager works closely with many teams, including product developers, researchers, marketing personnel, brand program partners and creative agencies to make sure the company brand values and image are followed.

 

The Marketing Manager usually works normal office hours, 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Evening and weekend work is sometimes necessary to meet deadlines, attend product launches, conferences and exhibitions. The Marketing Manager will travel occasionally to attend meetings with marketing firms and to participate at trade shows.

 

A Marketing Manager should:

  • be enthusiastic about their product area

Training is on-the-job and through courses organized by professional organizations. These range from introductory certificates to advanced level qualifications.

 

With experience, Marketing Managers may be promoted to a more senior role, possibly becoming a Brand Program Manager or Account Executive.

 

Typical tasks include:

  • researching Com Net’s markets and monitoring market trends
  • identifying and targeting areas for promotion
  • make initial touches to create warm contacts for direct sales representatives
  • checking marketing copy
  • assist Director of Sales and Marketing with the coordination of program launches to external partners and customers, as well as employees

Training

 

Com Net will provide on-the-job training in its services, pricing and marketing programs.

On-the-job training is complemented by professional marketing qualifications. There are a number of options available through the:

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
  • Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM)
  • Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM)
  • Communication Advertising and Marketing Education Foundation (CAM)

These range from introductory certificates to advanced level qualifications. Entry requirements for the different levels vary depending on business experience and academic ability.

 

Education and Experience:

Associates’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or university; or two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
