Regional Sales

Position Description:

This Regional Sales position plays the lead role in consulting clients about new technologies and is responsible for selling Independents Fiber Network (IFN) services, which include but are not limited to, dedicated internet access, ethernet transport, dark fiber leases, and collocation. This position is the primary contact for face-to-face sales and requires a broad understanding of IFN’s capabilities, customers, relationships, and technologies. This position requires leadership skills with a strong focus on customer acquisition, retention and satisfaction, strong organizational skills, project and matrix management, and the ability to complete tasks in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Regional Sales Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Overall responsibility to aggressively prospect for new customers throughout IFN’s network footprint
  • Identify and qualify sales leads and maintain a strong prospect pipeline to ensure above average quota and revenue goal attainment
  • Build senior level relationships (C-level; Director, VP) within existing client accounts and new prospective organizations
  • Professionally and effectively communicate solutions to existing customers and new prospects through presentations, written proposals, RFP responses, and regular business correspondence
  • Constantly refresh insight, knowledge, and understanding of IT technology industry, solutions, and strategies
  • Investigate, research, and seek information that will lead to a successful sales strategy that creates a selling advantage for a targeted opportunity
  • Comprehend and apply product strategies and solutions to develop existing customers and new prospect business development plans
  • Link and apply IT technologies to identify and targeted business outcomes for existing customers and new prospects
  • Create compelling solutions that satisfy customer business outcomes that are differentiated to position as the desired or preferred partner and solution provider
  • Create sound financial proposals that meet business expectations and win deals
  • Collaboration and teamwork in the execution of all assignments, roles, and responsibilities
  • Engage key vendors to develop joint account and market development opportunities leading to new solutions and revenue sources

Sales Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Use computer applications to create proposals and/or presentations (Salesforce, MasterStream, etc.)
  • Input current account information, as well as prospecting account status into Salesforce
  • Give onsite presentations to existing and prospective clients while utilizing sales techniques in order to close sales
  • Focus entirely on new streams of revenue through aggressive networking and prospecting
  • Coordinate area-wide technology events for customers and prospects

Desired Candidate Qualifications:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strong written, communication and presentation skills are required to create and present proposals, compose routine letters and maintain influential relationships at all levels within the customer’s organization
  • Thorough knowledge of telecommunication products and services is desired, but a willingness to learn will be accepted as well
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to influence the sale and diffuse potential customer problems
  • Strategic Selling & Consultative Skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively in diverse environments; must be approachable, show respect for others and be able to present data with effective communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter and solution oriented
  • Ability to develop sales strategies to meet goals
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to interact with customers and respond to expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Position Specifics:

  • Work remotely
  • Salary plus Commission
  • Quarterly internet and cell phone reimbursements
  • Hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
  • Estimated travel requirement – 25% – 50%

Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or university; or one-year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
